Terms of Service

Last updated: October 29, 2026

Please read these terms. By using this site you agree to them.

1. Acceptance

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of fluvannaopposesvalleylink.org (the "Site"), operated by Fluvanna Opposes Valley Link, Inc. as Fluvanna Opposes Valley Link ("we," "us"). If you do not agree, please do not use the Site. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information.

2. What this Site is, and is not

  • The Site provides general information and civic education about the proposed Valley Link 765-kV transmission project and the public review process.
  • We are a nonpartisan, citizen-led volunteer effort. We do not support or oppose candidates for office.
  • We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting for Valley Link, Dominion Energy, FirstEnergy Transmission, Transource Energy, PJM Interconnection, the Virginia State Corporation Commission, Fluvanna County or any other government body or company named on the Site.
  • Nothing on the Site is legal, engineering, real-estate, financial or other professional advice. Talk to a qualified professional about your own situation.

3. Accuracy, sources and corrections

We aim for accuracy and cite primary or authoritative sources where we can. The project is changing: routes are preliminary, filings and deadlines can shift, and official sources are always controlling. Figures attributed to Valley Link or others are theirs. Graphics and renderings are illustrations, not surveyed or to scale. Always check the SCC's orders and official notices for deadlines and requirements. If you find an error, tell us at [email protected] and we will review it promptly.

4. General form use

When you use a form to send a general question, correction, public-source suggestion, or presentation or volunteer inquiry, you agree that:

  • what you tell us is, to the best of your knowledge, accurate and not misleading;
  • you have the right to share any public source or photograph you submit;
  • you will not send private property records or sensitive locations; and
  • we may use public-source suggestions and corrections to improve the Site, but we do not accept, investigate, store, submit, or represent individual property matters.

Stay safe and lawful. Do not trespass, dig, disturb graves, artifacts or wildlife, or put yourself or others at risk in order to document anything. Please do not post sensitive locations publicly.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to: break the law; harass, threaten or defame anyone; submit false or deceptive information; impersonate any person or organization; interfere with the Site's security or operation; scrape the Site at a rate that harms it; or use the Site to send spam.

6. Public participation

We share general information about public processes, but we are not a party's representative and do not provide legal or other professional advice or submit individual materials. We do not guarantee any outcome and are not responsible for missed deadlines or for decisions made by any agency or body. Individual volunteers' personal views and communications are their own, unless expressly authorized for the group.

7. Donations

We are not currently soliciting donations. If we do in the future, the details, including who administers funds, will be posted on the Site, and nothing on the Site should be read as a request for money before then.

8. Intellectual property

The Site's text, design, graphics and original photographs are owned by us or our licensors. You may share links to the Site and quote short excerpts with attribution, and you may print and distribute our flyer for non-commercial community use. Any other reproduction requires our permission. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted or error-free.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Fluvanna Opposes Valley Link, its volunteers, officers and sponsors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss arising from your use of, or reliance on, the Site. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
